Bit 3's 465 SBus to Q22-bus Adaptor supports the interconnection of aSPARC workstation to a Q22-bus system. The Q22-bus system can beMicroVAX, PDP/LSI, or any other system that uses the Q22-bus.The 465 consists of two printer circuit cards. One card is for the SPARCworkstation, and the other is for a Q22-bus system slot. The two cardsare connected with a round EMI-shielded cable or optional fiber-opticcable.Address mapping permits the SPARC workstation to directly address Q22-busmemory and I/O as though the system were a Q22-bus bus master processor.The SPARC workstation can be a coprocessor or the only processor on theQ22-bus system. Communication between the two systems is by random access16-bit reads and writes.In direct mapping mode, up to 4 MB of Q22-bus address space is accessiblefrom the workstation as SBus memory. Page mapping mode permits the SPARC-based workstation to access 4 MB of Q22-bus memory in page sizes from 64KB to 1 MB.
